Great Hotels of the World announces the winners of the 2022 Sustainable Future Awards

Great Hotels of the World represents close to 50 upscale, largely independent hotels and resorts with superb meetings and leisure facilities. Working closely with our Member Hotels, we are privileged to see in our day-to-day operations that independent, local hospitality is sustainable hospitality.

Our member Hotels are doing great things and making a world of difference. Shining a light on, and celebrating their outstanding initiatives, is our way of contributing towards a sustainable future where generations to come will continue to reap the rewards of the transformative power of travel.

All Member Hotels were invited to submit their recent projects in four categories: Social Sustainability, Environmental Sustainability, Economic Sustainability and Sustainable Events.

Our stellar panel of judges comprising David Chestler – Provision Partners (USA), Jack Marczewski – Event Director – The Meetings Show (UK), Monika Krauthahn – Sustainability Catalyst in Hospitality Consultant (Germany /DACH), and Pedro Colaco – CEO GHOTW reviewed and scored each submission.

Project analysis criteria included each initiative’s impact and engagement level on staff and on guest experience, as well as its potential to be benchmarked as a best practice for comparable hotels around the world.

On behalf of all involved, we’d like to congratulate the winning projects:
